“ One of the best I've ever had. Their hot pot and dry pots which is the main reason I frequent here often are amazing. I recommend everyone to try them if they haven't. I can't say I've tried much of the rest other than once I tried my partners General Tsos and it was OK. ”

“ (Uber Eats delivered 2/25/2021.) Working in Troy, NY for the week and I'm feeling lazy, PLUS, I had an Uber Eats coupon so I decided to use it! I had the hankering for some sushi and found this place. Here's how it went! Atmosphere/Appearance: Since I did not physically see the restaurant, I cannot comment on it. Service: Since an Uber Eats employee delivered my food, I cannot comment on the service, however, the food was ready in a timely manner in order to be picked up and brought to me. Food: So, I usually wouldn't even do a Yelp review for a restaurant that delivered to me, but he food I had was SO good I felt the need to. I started off with their edamame which were cooked well and deliciously salty. I then followed that up with 2 different specialty rolls. The New Year Roll is shrimp tempura, avocado and king crab all inside soybean paper then topped with seared tuna, sweet chili sauce as well as a wasabi mayonnaise. OH MY GOODNESS it was so delicious. Not to mention the roll was a great size and still warm. I can't describe the flavors, you just have to try it yourself. Next up was the Demon Roll which is identical to the New Year Roll, but there was no king crab, instead, there was wasabi lobster on top with the seared tuna. There's also no chili sauce, but an eel sauce with the wasabi mayonnaise. The flavors were just as good and so succulent. I LOVED their food. Value: Both of my specialty rolls were $13.00 (looking at the online menu the prices have increased by $1.00) and my edamame was only $5.00 (now $6.00). I think that's pretty great for sushi. I can think of many places where the food is much more expensive! In conclusion, I loved the food from this place and when I'm in the area again I'll be sure to pay this place an actual visit! “ Red and Blue is a lot of things. Walk in the door, and off to your right is a sushi bar. To your left is a room full of tables with built in burners. There's a take out counter right in front that does brisk business. Past the hostess stand is a small dining room. Beyond the dining room is a cocktail bar. Off the cocktail bar is a private karaoke room. And all the way in the back is a banquet hall. Egads! What is one supposed to make of all this? Personally, I think it's important to try and figure out what a restaurant does best, and what separates it from the pack. In this case it's the Sichuan food. The fact that Red and Blue even had Sichuan food was only revealed to me one night when I was with a large party in the karaoke room. We started at the bar, and then continued the party in our private stall. It was a ton of fun, but if you go to the bar, my recommendation is to stick to bottled beer. Beyond a group sing along of Sweet Caroline, the highlight of that evening was the braised fish filet in roast chili soup (麻辣香水鱼). Man, that was good. And it made me want to come back for me. However, it took some time. Just this week, I returned for lunch to try a staple Sichuan dish I've been enjoying all over town: mapo tofu. And this was definitely a solid version, with number peppercorns, ground pork, and enough heat to make me sweat. For my tastes, it leaned too heavily on the black pepper, but that's only a small nit. The lunch portion was $7 and it comes with rice and either salad or miso soup. Miso soup felt like the wrong starter for Sichuan food. And a salad in March sounded like a recipe for disaster. But I went with the salad and it was surprisingly good. One of these days I would like to return with a group and try some more of the menu. That would also give me a chance to experience the banquet room in the back. Then I'll have done everything but the sushi bar and those front tables with the burners. I'm still not quite sure what those are about, but perhaps I'll figure it out in time. The sushi on the other hand, I'm happy to leave a mystery. ”
